C-Type Media Photography Workshops

Under the guidance of professional photographers Clare Ball and Ben Mostyn, our exclusive workshops offer an insightful and enjoyable journey into uncovering the secrets behind top-class image making. Open to a select number of participants each year, Clare and Ben will cover disciplines including portraiture, food and landscape photography, with the 4-star Merchants Manor Hotel in Falmouth acting as a luxurious base. Each workshop runs over two days, and will include the opportunity to photograph a professional model, explore the hidden coves of south west Cornwall with your camera, and create images of award-winning food from Chef Patron Hylton Espey that will look good enough to eat.

We also offer one-to-one workshops and other options for day courses. Please enquire for more details.

Whether you’re starting out with photography or looking to augment your existing skills, we’d love to show you our corner of Cornwall through a lens. The only requirements are that you have a digital SLR camera that can shoot a RAW image, and the camera can be manually adjusted. Suitable clothing and footwear is definitely recommended too, as well as a notebook to jot down information. If you have a laptop computer, it would be advantageous to bring it with you to the workshop.

Terms and Conditions

These terms and conditions act as the agreement between you and C-Type Media. By booking a workshop you sign into this agreement and agree to abide and be bound by these terms and conditions. If you have any questions about this agreement, please contact us.

Fees & Cancellations

  • A fifty percent deposit for each workshop is required at the time of booking. This deposit confirms your place at the workshop. If you cancel your booking more than 6 weeks before the start date, we will refund your deposit. After this period, the deposit is non-refundable. If you are not sure you will be able to attend the workshop, please let us know beforehand.

  • Following receipt of your booking, the remainder of the workshop fee is required at least 4 weeks before the course start date. Failure to pay the remainder of the fee will result in losing your place on the workshop and you will not receive a refund of any portion of your deposit.

  • If fees are not paid by the due date, C-Type Media will reallocate your place. You shall remain liable for the remainder of the fee for the workshop if we are not able to fill your place in the workshop.

  • Workshop transfer – If you are unable to attend the workshop and notify us 2 weeks prior to the start date, you may transfer your booking to a future workshop. Workshop transfer credit is only allowed to be used up to 1 year after the deposit is made.

  • Bank Fees – If you cancel your place on the workshop and there are bank fees to process the refund of your booking transaction, you will be responsible for those fees and this amount will be removed from the total of your refund.

  • C-Type Media may cancel a workshop at any time prior to commencement. In the unlikely event that we cancel a workshop, C-Type Media will notify you as soon as possible and any fees or deposits received from you will be refunded. Please note that C-Type Media will not refund travel or accommodation costs for cancelled courses.

  • Elements of each workshop may be subject to change without notice, for example due to inclement weather.  No refunds will be given in the event of any such changes although we will endeavour to notify you, if possible, of the changes, and an alternative activity will be arranged.

  • C-Type Media is not responsible for any personal injury or damage to property arising from incidents occurring at the workshop venue, or on location anywhere outside of the venue.

  • Please be aware of where you keep your belongings at the workshop and please remember to check your equipment at the end of the workshop so you do not leave anything behind. We are not responsible for loss of, or damage to, your personal property.

  • The Contract contains all the terms agreed between you and C-Type Media, and supersedes any discussions or other information previously provided concerning the workshops.
